Volunteer Projects

This project conducted at The Florey will develop an effective mRNA gene therapy that will significantly improve the health and well-being of those living with NP-C. Findings from this project will enable us to rapidly build an mRNA gene therapy pipeline to treat other genetic disorders, in particular those presenting with childhood dementia.

The Australian Patient Care Standards will be an important resource to guide health professionals to improve the care they provide for people impacted by Niemann-Pick disease type C (NP-C). This project's aim is to adapt standards created for the global patient body specifically for Australia. Australian NPD Foundation will work with Niemann-Pick specialists and community members to raise awareness of the standards and use these as the basis to provide the best possible care for the NP-C community.
